Day Eight

Wow, things can change overnight.  Yesterday we were driving through snow, and today we had mostly blue sky with beautiful white fluffy clouds.  We even hit a high of 74 degrees!  The sun felt so good!!  Things also changed fast in our fun game, "Words of Dooooom".   Evan chose for his word his name!!  I chose "what" and Mike chose "look".  I struggled today and Evan loved it!!  I lost count of how many times I goofed up, Mike was pretty bad too, and Evan was so happy to be the winner.

Today we drove 452 miles in 7 hours 23 minutes through Texas and Oklahoma.  We are staying the night in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Our first stop today was Clinton, Oklahoma.  Home of the Route 66 Museum.  You might  be surprised how many Route 66 Museums there are in this state!!  They were busy renovating it, so we didn't see much, but it was interesting.

Our next stop was the Oklahoma City National Memorial.  This is where the bombing took place of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.  It is a very sobering experience.  The memorial is absolutely beautiful.  I wish we would have had time to go through the adjacent museum.

We are looking forward to tomorrow being a much smaller driving day.  We need to catch up on laundry and sleep. We have lost two hours of time, and can't seem to find them!!!!
