Day Nine, We saw Arkansas

Today's escapade took us through the beautiful state of Arkansas!  We made a last minute change in plans and went a little out of our way to visit Hot Springs National Park.  The drive went through green countryside like this.

There is a ranch down there and this was a very beautiful view point.

Here is Evan at the Hot Springs.  The water was about 135 degrees.  It's hard to tell but you could actually see the steam.

 Some beautiful flowers.

These flowers were on a tree.  I wonder what they are??

One of the many bath houses.

This old bath house housed the Visitors Center.

Intricate detail around the windows of the Bath House.

Fountain in the middle of the women's bath house.

The elevator was super cool and very old and still worked!!

Mosaic on the dome of one of the bath houses.
This National Park is in the middle of a very urban area.  Behind the row of bath houses there was a very wooded peaceful area, right in the middle of the town.

The idea was people would soak in the hot water get there massages and other therapy and then walk through the peace and calm of the forest!!  Sounds good to me!!

I was slaughtered in our word game again today!!  The words were "pretty", "go" and "word".  Tomorrow we will play something else.

We are spending the night in Memphis and will head out to Knoxville in the morning.  NO!! We did NOT see Elvis!!
