High on the north end of the Blue Ridge Parkway lies the Shenandoah National Park.
It's sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley below are breathtaking.
It's flowering trees are so beautiful.
There were picnic grounds beneath the towering trees. You can tell by how fast Evan is going he was hungry.
Unfortunately, someone (me) forgot to pack the bread to make the sandwiches. We didn't starve. We had grapes and trail mix!!
The Park stretches along the Skyline Drive for 105 miles. We even went through one tunnel.
We found the Limber Lost Trail was wheelchair accessible. But only to a point!!
We are such rebels though!! Pooh Paw!! We didn't care that the sign at one point said "not recommended" for wheelchairs. We continued on, and it was perfectly fine!!
At first glance the trees on the Limberlost trail look rather dead. But, if you look closer, life abounds in the forest. The trees are still dormant and just starting to wake up to spring.
It's a great place to ponder life and the great gift we have been given from our Savior Jesus Christ of the resurrection.
After driving for quite a while we came to an area known as Big Meadow and this is exactly what it is!!
The Big Meadow was a very quiet peaceful area.
On our way out of the park this little deer crossed the road in front of us. We only made it through half of Shenandoah Park. I think that is because we kept pulling off to look at the many of the view points! There are 75 throughout the park!! I guess we will just have to come back sometime!!
